Autism New Zealand’s Invercargill branch is part of a nationwide charity that supports and advocates for individuals living with autism. From providing education, helping individuals and family members find the services they need and helping families access an assessment for their child, to providing support for families who have had a family member recently diagnosed with autism.

At present, Autism New Zealand’s Invercargill branch supports about 500 members throughout Southland.

What the grant went towards

The ILT Foundation provided Autism New Zealand, Invercargill branch with a grant of $5000 towards the salary costs of the Southland Outreach co-ordinator position for 12 months.

What the grant means to the community group/organisation

Autism New Zealand, Invercargill branch outreach co-ordinator Wendy Jenkins said funding received from the ILT Foundation would enable them to continue to deliver Outreach services to help and support the many individuals, whanau and professionals in this area.
