Whanau well-being focus of service

Awarua Whanau Services is a Kaupapa Maori service based in Invercargill and run by Te Runaka o Awarua.

Awarua Whanau Services offer a range of free social, health and early childhood education services focused on whanau well-being.

 

What the grant went towards

Awarua Whanau Services received $20,000 from the ILT Foundation towards its operating costs for a 12-month period.

 

What the grant means to the community group/organisation

“The grant is invaluable to our organisation as it has allowed us to invest in tools and resources that are instrumental in allowing us to tell our organisation and the whānau we serve’s stories,” manager Mata Cherrington said.

“We are extremely thankful to the foundation for its support and appreciate the forging of a relationship which will truly be impactful to the community we serve.”
